If you don’t have the time or the inclination to be making your own, this plastic free kitchen spray is the next best thing. Little sachets of concentrated cleaner through your letterbox that dissolve in water. Just pop it in an old spray bottle or they have glass ones you can buy.
The product – Iron & Velvet Plastic Free Antibacterial Kitchen Spray
I’ve been using these for about a month after my bulk buy of another eco product I wasn’t entirely happy with finally ran out (it came in what I would recognise as a wine box!).
These are soooooo easy to use. You receive a small package with little tubes of concentrated cleaner which simply need to be added to 500ml of lukewarm water and left to dissolve. Then you’re all ready to go. I just used an old plastic spray bottle I had saved but you can buy some attractive glass ones if you felt so inclined!
- Made using plant-derived, sustainably sourced ingredients
- 100% Plastic-free
- Easy to use; water-soluble sachets
- RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil
- Plastic-free packaging & FSC Certified paper
- Made in the UK – low carbon footprint
- Cruelty free
You can get a version that doesn’t have the antibacterial agent in it as well.
They also produce other cleaning products like glass cleaner so save up your bottles and you can replace your old ones as you get through them.
You can check out all of Iron & Velvet’s eco-credentials at the bottom of this post in our handy infographic.
How much is it and where do I get it?
They are £10.99 for a pack of 5 which I think is pretty good value.
I got mine from Ecovibe and I have a 10% off discount code for you too: TIGHTSCLUB10.
That’s a wrap
These are a great way to reduce everyday plastic in the home and reduce the harm caused by chemicals in our waterways.
The other alternative is just to use warm soapy water, but I know people like the ease of a spray.
