A game changer, these eco friendly laundry strips are small and mighty and will save you loads of storage space as they come in a carboard envelope, for 32 loads!
The product – Tru Earth Eco Friendly Laundry Strips
I am loving how innovative the sustainable product industry has become, and this is a prime example.
Inside this envelope you will find solid strips of detergent, millimeters thick and about 2 inches wide by about 4 tall. Not only does their solid state mean that they can be packaged completely plastic free, but because they are so slim, they take up no space at all for storage. That’s a bonus if you’re anything like me – somehow we have managed to fill up all our storage in this house despite massively upsizing from our place down south!
- Hypoallergenic, certified by independent dermatologists
- Zero-waste compostable packaging
- Reduced carbon production in transport (very lightweight)
- Dissolves completely in hot or cold water
- Free of added dyes & chlorine bleach
- Readily biodegradable
- Works in all washing machines
- No measuring & no mess
- Helps keep 700,000,000 plastic detergent dispensers out of landfills per year
We have a septic tank and they are compatible with that. Having moved to powder to reduce our plastic use, I’d definitely say these are better as we did get some powder residue on washing at times.
You can check out all of Tru Earth’s eco-credentials at the bottom of this post in our handy infographic.
How much is it and where do I get it?
They are £12.95 and I got mine from &keep, you can use this link here.

That’s a wrap
A great way to take another piece of plastic out of the home without sacrificing on quality. These are also better for our waterways than standard detergent AND you’ll get some storage space back!
